PENTAS PROJECT 2008 ANNUAL PRODUCTION
Animal Farm

They are idiots before the revolution; they are still idiots after the revolution.
A political metaphoric performance presented by the most promising force of theatre in 2008

Following the imaginative performance of “The Lost and the Ecliptic” in 2007, Pentas Project brings you their annual production of 2008. The challenge this time is “Animal Farm”, George Orwell’s political metaphoric novel. This performance boldly questions the complications of power and greed, capitalizing upon the boiling discontentment of the people and the strange political and social phenomena which is real life for many.  A shattering story of totalitarianism, desire, greed and corruption – forcing you to face the actual collective consciousness of the worst of human weaknesses.

“Animal Farm” is the fourth production of Pentas Project since its establishment in 2005. It is a new attempt by renowned theatre director, Loh Kok Man, a multiple BOH Cameronian Arts Awards nominee and winner.  Kok Man has gathered together a dream cast – Gan Hui Yee, Ling Tang, Chen Huen Phuei, Chin Lee Ling, Lim Tiong Wooi and Moo Siew Keh – creating “pseudo animal body language” which is highly challenging, refreshing and realistic.

Pentas Project has also invited other BOH Cameronian Arts Awards nominees/winners to be in the team:

Bernard Goh, the Artistic Director of Hands Percussion – Music and Sound
Dominique Devorsine – Costume
Caecar Chong – Set

Also in the team are:
Tan Yan Tee – Chinese script writer; and
Terence Chong – co-music and sound designer

Together they bring you a must-see tempest of revolution in 2008!
