Eloise Movie Review
This is not a really a ghost movie per se’ but a bit of suspense thriller. It is like “The Frighteners” cross over with “The Oculus”. Unfortunately, nothing as good as the said movies.
The movie is about a guy who just lost the father to cancer/suicide and inherited 1.2 million provided he shows a death cert of a dead auntie. The movie is about the search for that cert in an abandoned area called annex (where all the weird things start happening)
The movie lacked clear motive to what’s happening to them and what is at stake is never explained? There is no revelation to what’s happening to them? Are they haunted by the place? A spirit? ghosts? Is there a cross timeline happening in the hospital? Is it a bit more sci-fi than horror?
The ending where they dedicated the movie to the people related to the hospital felt purported. I am sure all those things didnt happen in real life and the ending was trying to give more weight to the whole movie.
For a fan of ghost movies, the depiction of the abandoned hospital worked well; it gives you the creeps, but the execution of the movie is a let down. With a premise that playing with phobias and what you are scared of, the movie aint that scary.
