CELCOM FIRST TO LAUNCH THE NOKIA C3, THE MOST AFFORDABLE SOCIAL NETWORKING AND MESSAGING-READY ‘QWERTY’ DEVICE

Celcom Axiata Berhad [formerly known as Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad], the most experienced and premier leading mobile telecommunications service provider in the country, is proud to be the first telco to launch the Nokia C3, the most affordable social networking and messaging-ready ‘QWERTY’ device in the market, retailing at RM520.

The introduction of this new device is apt and targets the younger generation, especially the fresh graduates and young adults, whose main source of keeping in touch is via social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter and messaging services.

In conjunction with the launch, Celcom took the opportunity to reward its customers and the public with a simple event last Friday. The first 50 customers that queued up at the event walked away with a Nokia C3 at ONLY RM99 while the next 50 customers at RM199.

These 100 customers also received a FREE Nokia car charger and a RM50 voucher each. At the event, five lucky customers out of these 100 customers were also rewarded with an extra unit of Nokia C3 each during the lucky draw segment. These five winners are Siti Aishah Zulkifli, Norasilawati Mohamad, Shiah Mamat, Nurul Shahera Mohd Zakaria, and Istikomah Mohamad.

To celebrate the launch, Celcom has tailored several special offers exclusively for our customers. For those who signed up for the CE250 plan under Celcom Exec, they will get the Nokia C3 device for FREE while those who sign up for CE88 or CE118 plans, they will get the phone at only RM278 and RM238 respectively.

For Celcom’s corporate clients, the Nokia C3 device is completely FREE when the customers subscribe to the P148 plan while those who opt for the P48 plan with the RM68 Data package, the cost of the phone is only at RM118 instead of its retail price of RM520. Also, in conjunction with the launch of the Nokia C3 device, Nokia also launched an online social networking contest called Socialista Meter. Celcom is the Official Telco Partner for this contest.

Participants will have to sign up for the contest and update their Facebook or Twitter. The contest will be running for 4 weeks starting from last Friday and will end by mid November. Two weekly winners will be selected based on the most numbers of updates and at the end of the fourth week, the two most sociable persons will be crowned the King and Queen of Socialista Meter.

The weekly winners will win a Xpax prepaid pack with RM100 worth of airtime from Celcom while the two grand prize winners will be awarded with RM3,333 cash, an additional of RM833 for Celcom’s existing customers, 3 Nokia C3 (1 for the winner and 2 for their friends), a Xpax prepaid pack with RM100 worth of airtime from Celcom.
