Samsung Introduces GALAXY W and GALAXY Y Smartphones for the Young, Hip and Trendy
KUALA LUMPUR, 5 December 2011 – The young, hip and trendy can now rejoice as leading mobile phone provider, Samsung Malaysia Electronics Sdn. Bhd. today introduced into the Malaysian market two brand new offerings into its GALAXY Smartphone family.
These two new smartphones offer sleek and stylish looks for the fashion-conscious, powerful Android Gingerbread 2.3 platforms for maximum performance and the ultimate mobility on-the-go with the latest apps for excellent connectivity on-the-go.
Designed for the fast and furious, the GALAXY W is for those who seek cutting-edge style combined with powerful performance and connectivity at an affordable price. With the 1.4 GHz Processor, the GALAXY W offers fast computer-like processing capabilities.
Priced at only RM 499, the GALAXY Y is designed for hip and trendy youths. Users will always stay in style as the phone comes complete with five back covers with five different colours – pearly white, dark black, fruity orange, bubblegum pink and silver platter. The GALAXY Y also promises seamless connectivity with Samsung’s very own chat application, Ch@tON and other social apps for socially inclined youths.
In conjunction with the launch, Samsung is also rewarding the first 20,000 owners of the GALAXY Y with free game downloads by GameLoft, a leading global publisher of digital and social games for digital platforms, including mobile phones, smartphones and tablets.

The GALAXY W features a spacious 3.7” touch screen with 480 x 800-pixel resolution that provides an enhanced gaming, video-viewing and web-browsing experience with great image quality.
