TONY ROMA’S ON A MISSION TO SPREAD LOVE, PRIDE AND UNITY

[dropcap]F[/dropcap]rom the opening of its first restaurant in Sunway Pyramid back in 2006 to its 11th outlet at Mahkota Parade, Melaka and more restaurants slated to open in the near future, Tony Roma’s has served hundreds of thousands of Malaysians and foreigners over the years.

“Tony Roma’s has come a long, long way over the years, and we would not be where we are today without our loyal patrons. We continue to innovate on new food items, value-added deals and improve our service quality with the purpose of serving our customers better, and at the same time focus on giving back to society which is embedded in our core values here at Tony Roma’s. In celebration of our tenth year in Malaysia, we want to spread positive messages of love that we have for our country and remind people of the nation’s founding values – and what better way to do that than by collaborating with ‘Projek57’. We have purchased over 500 Projek57 T-shirts (totaling RM22,500.00) for all our employees to wear on selected days throughout the campaign period. Together, we believe that we can make a difference,” said George Ang, Chief Executive Officer of Grand Companions Sdn Bhd, the parent company of Tony Roma’s Malaysia.

‘Projek57’ is a movement of hope that aims to return the country to its founding values of 1957 – Tolerance, Diversity, Unity and Progressiveness.

Celebrating 10th Year Anniversary by making a difference as one nation

Syed Sadiq Albar, co-founder of 5IFTY 7EVEN, said, “Our Founding Father, Tunku Abdul Rahman’s vision for Malaysia was for a nation built upon the values of justice, liberty and unity. Inspired by his vision and in embodying the spirit of 1957, Projek57’s mission is to encourage Malaysians to be part of a movement of nation-builders who saw hope for our nation. Clearly our future depends on how well many different kinds of people can live and work together. We are always keen to partner with those who are as passionate as us about building a better future for Malaysia. Through our partnership with Tony Roma’s, we hope to reach out to more Malaysians.”

“I am nothing without my country and my Fellow Malaysians” and “Our future depends on how well many different kinds of people can live and work together”, are two great quotes from our Founding Father, Tunku Abdul Rahman. We want to continue spreading his legacy together with Tony Roma’s. We believe every Malaysian has a part to play in shaping Malaysia’s future, and that is why we created Projek57 as non-political and non-partisan. We are excited to be on board together with Tony Roma’s to spread more positive messages about our nation together. As part of the campaign, 40% of the sales profits will be channeled to entrepreneurship empowerment programs for single mothers and underprivileged youths.” Syed Sadiq added.

In crystalising the collaboration between Tony Roma’s and Projek57, celebrities and members of the media were invited to an exclusive treat at Tony Roma’s Sunway Pyramid outlet recently to support this meaningful cause. The event was highlighted by having the beneficiaries of Projek57 – the single mothers from the Women of Will (WoW) Malaysia indulging in the latest Anniversary Platter together with the invited celebrities and media for a memorable day.

The sale of 5IFTY 7EVEN T-shirts has started at all Tony Roma’s outlets in Peninsular Malaysia from 1st August 2016.
