She also worked on her own demo tape, which John produced. One year later, McBride had a contract with RCA and was on tour with Garth Brooks. Her first album stumbled, but in 1993, McBride began to enjoy the fruits of her labor. Since then, she’s continued to rack up hits and winning among other awards, no less than four CMA female vocalist of the year citations.

From her early years as a child star with MGM, she became one of the great screen actresses of Hollywood’s Golden Age, and one of the most famous film stars in the world. Taylor was recognized not only as a talented and award-winning actress, but also for her glamorous lifestyle and beauty, with distinctive violet eyes.
Taylor’s much publicized personal life included eight marriages, several life-threatening illnesses, and decades spent as an outspoken advocate for AIDS awareness, research and cure. The American Film Institute named Taylor seventh on its Female Legends list, and in 1993 awarded her an AFI Life Achievement Award. Taylor died of congestive heart failure, on March, 23 2011 at the age of 79.

Laura Ashley is the famous fashion designer who started a business with her husband manufacturing materials and wallpapers with patterns based upon document sources mainly from the 19th century. When she gave up work to have a baby, she experimented with designing and making clothes, and this transformed the business into an international chain of boutiques. She later experimented with clothes and transformed it into a quintessentially British fashion chain. Her work was characterized by a romantic style and the use of natural fabrics, especially cotton.
Never missed the biography of Christian Slater on Sunday at 8pm. Christian first broke into show business at age of 7, appearing on the soap opera The Edge of Night. By the early 80s he was starring on Broadway and then traveled West to pursue a career on the big screen. After making a notable impression on audiences in the cult hit Heathers and following that with a number of high visibility projects, Slater appeared to be on his way to major stardom, before a series of run-ins with the law greatly reduced his career momentum.
