Crime & Punishment2

Mother On Death Row, 3 April
Darlie Routier is on death row for the murder of her two sons – but is she guilty? This program examines the controversial case of the Texas woman who was convicted of killing 6-year-old Devon and 5-year-old Damon. We hear from a juror who now thinks that Darlie is innocent, the lead prosecutor and defense attorney in the case, and Darlie herself.

The Preppie Murder, 10 April
A probe of the death of young Jennifer Levin, who was killed in New York City’s Central Park while having sex with Robert Chambers, a handsome prep school graduate.

Scarsdale Diet Doctor, 17 April
In its time, it was the trail of the century. In March of 1980, Jean Harris, headmistress of the exclusive Madeira School for Girls in Virginia, was charged with murder in the death of Dr. Herman Tarnower, author of the Scarsdale Diet. The two had been lovers for 14 years. For prosecutors it was a question of intent. There was no doubt that Harris shot Tarnower, but why? The state’s case made Harris out to be a jealous mistress, enraged that a younger woman had taken her place in Tarnower’s life. But Harris claimed she had wanted to commit suicide. When Turnower tried to stop her, he was accidentally shot. When the case went to trial, Jean insisted that only she knew the truth about what happened that night in Scarsdale.

A Soldier’s Secret, 24 April
Gay rights groups charge that President Clinton’s controversial “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy in the military encourages gay-bashing when a homosexual soldier in the famed 101st Airborne Division is brutally murdered.

The program is also available in Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese subtitle.
