“2008 VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS” ARE NOMINEES FOR EXCELLENCE IN DIRECTION, CHOREOGRAPHY, EDITING, SPECIAL EFFECTS, CINEMATOGRAPHY AND ART DIRECTION 

The “2008 MTV Video Music Awards” Air on Sunday September 7, 2008

The final countdown to the “2008 MTV Video Music Awards” has begun and “Moonman” contenders for this year’s professional categories are in. The list of “2008 Video Music Awards” nominees for “Best Choreography,” “Best Editing,” “Best Special Effects,” “Best Cinematography” and “Best Art Direction” include a very talent group of musicians including Coldplay, The White Stripes, Weezer, Adele and Eryka Badu. 

As previously announced, MTV’s 25th annual Video Music Awards will be hosted by comedian/actor Russell Brand and will air live and only one time in its original incarnation, on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 9PM SHARP (Live ET/Tape Delayed PT).  Lil Wayne, Jonas Brothers, Kid Rock, Pink, Rihanna, and Paramore have already been confirmed to perform at this year’s show. Presenters and additional performers for the “2008 Video Music Awards” will be announced at a later date.

The “2008 MTV Video Awards” nominees for “Best Choreography” include British newcomer Adele, Chris Brown who finds himself nominated for both “Kiss Kiss” featuring T-Pain and “Forever,” Gnarls Barkley and Pussycat Dolls.  

Nominees for “Best Direction” are Panic at the Disco, twice nominated Rihanna, Pussycat Dolls, Linkin Park and Erykah Badu.  “Best Editing” nominees are Death Cab For Cutie, Weezer, Erykah Badu, Katy Perry and Ne-Yo. Hoping to snatch and award for “Best Special Effects” are the always ingenious Missy Elliott, British Rockers Coldplay, Kanye West featuring T-Pain and Linkin Park. And rounding out nominees are  Death Cab For Cutie, Pussycat Dolls, Katy Perry, The White Stripes and Erykah Badu for “Best Cinematography” and  Gnarls Barkley, MGMT, Katy Perry, The White Stripes and Pussycat Dolls who receive their sixth nomination for “When I Grow Up” in the “Best Art Direction.”
