[dropcap]M[/dropcap]alaysian will once again be entertained by another entertaining talent competition with the launch of YOUTH CAN DANCE, an online dance competition opened to all Malaysian youth aged 15 to 35 years from any background, professional or amateur to participate and compete as an alternative platform to expose their talents to the industry. Lensa Creative, as the organizer is expecting more than 1,000 participations with the strong support from sponsor, Tune Talk and other supporters such as Ministry of Youth & Sports, PUBLIKA (event venue), Red Bull (energy drink partner) and Kartell Records.

Today, Malaysia’s popular rapper, Altimet and En Nazree Nassir, CEO of Lensa Creative witnessed by the CEO of Tune Talk, Mr Jason Lo and other partners has officially launched the competition at The Boulevard Red Zone, PUBLIKA, Solaris Dutamas.

All contestants are required to uploadtheir video performance in YouTube and send an email to [email protected] with information such as name, MYKad, address, telephone, email, and YouTube link (performance video) and attach video file

All participations (video entries) will be viewed by the professional judges and the best performance will be shortlisted for the next stage. Among the professional judges of YOUTH CAN DANCE are Altimet (artiste), Khenobu (Red Bull BC One Cypher Malaysia 2013 Champion), Alam Wakaka Crew (Professional Dancer & Choreographer) and few more which will be announced soon.

Altimet as the Program Director of YOUTH CAN DANCE said:

“I’m very happy to be a part of this. I believe it’s one of the many positive outlets for our youth to express their individuality. It’s heartening to see the youth’s interests today in the arts being viewed more positively today than when I was growing up. Therefore it’s only right I throw my support behind this competition.”

The contestants are divided into 6 zones (Central, Southern, East Coast, Northern, Sarawak and Sabah) and top 3 contestants from each zone plus 2 wildcards shall advance to the finals scheduled on 21st and 22nd September 2013. The 20 finalists will have to perform LIVE on stage in front of the professional judges and audience at The Square PUBLIKA. There will be a carnival during the 2 days with many activities such as flash mobs, deejay demonstrations, graffiti exhibition and many more.

With the support from PUBLIKA as the official venue, it is expected that the response from the young generations will be very positive towards YOUTH CAN DANCE. As mentioned by Encik L Izwan Abdullah the Advertising & Promotions Manager of PUBLIKA Shopping Gallery “The shopping complex is constantly providing a platform for young talent and is glad to be supporting this event etc.”

The champion of YOUTH CAN DANCE will bag a total cash prize of RM10,000 plus other prizes such as an opportunity to perform in a music video of an established artiste, trophy and many more. The runner-up and 2nd runner-up shall win RM5,000 and RM3,000 respectively plus trophy and other prizes. In addition, the best video will win a cash voucher amounting RM2,000 for the its creativity.

6. How It Works
 In preliminary round, all contestants MUST upload their performance video to YouTube and email the YouTube link with their information to – [email protected] not later than 23:59hrs (Malaysian Time) on 31st August 2013 (closing date).

 Best 3 contestants from each zones and 2 wildcards will be shortlisted by the organizing committee and professional judges to advance into the finals

 Best 20 shortlisted finalists will have to perform LIVE at the finals in front of the audience and professional judges at The Square PUBLIKA, Solaris Dutamas, Kuala Lumpur in mid-September 2013

13. Rules & Regulations
1. FREE without any entrance fee
2. Open to all Malaysian aged 15-35 years (born within 1st January 1978 and 31st December 1998) professional or amateurs.
3. Participation of solo or group (max of 7 persons in a group)
4. All entries MUST be submitted online via email sent to – [email protected] stating / attach with the following :-
a. Full Name (solo and all group members)
b. MYKad number (solo and all group members)
c. Group Name (applicable to group of 2-7 persons)
d. Telephone numbers (at least 2 numbers)
e. Valid email address
f. YouTube link and video file (max 10MB)
g. Contestant’s hi-res profile photo (min 2MB)
5. Performance of participant’s video (max 5mins) must be uploaded to YouTube
6. The organizer has the rights to keep and broadcast the videos and photos of contestants for promotion and other related purposes
7. Contestants are allowed perform in ANY genre or type of dance with decent and acceptable moves and appearance.
8. Only REGISTERED participants are allowed to perform in the finals if qualify
9. The judging shall be based on the following elements – Performance, Technique, Originality and Creativity
10. The organizer shall not bear any costs on the contestants participation in the competition
11. The organizer has full rights to change, cancel and amend any clauses in the rules & regulations at any time and/or postpone the competition schedule.
12. All results published are final and no appeal shall be entertained.
