TUNE HOTELS CO-SPONSORS ‘SHARE LOVE CHARITY CONCERT’
Promotes brand to Thai youth market through association with top bands

BANGKOK, 18 August 2011 – Tune Hotels, the pioneering value hotel chain, has come on board as a co-sponsor of the ‘EBA Share Love Charity Concert’ that seeks to raise funds to buy dialysis machines for Chulalongkorn Hospital.

Commenting on the co-sponsorship, Tune Hotels Group CEO Mark Lankester says: “Tune Hotels is very honoured at this opportunity to be part of the Share Love Charity Concert and to work together with Chulalongkorn University students and alumni to raise funds for such a noble cause. Kidney problems have become a big threat to our well-being today as it continues to affect the population regardless of age. We hope our small contribution towards this charity event will go a long way in benefiting kidney patients especially at Chulalongkorn Hospital.”

The organisers are targeting to purchase at least one new dialysis machine that costs 1.5 million Baht for Chulalongkorn Hospital.

Organised by students and alumni of Chulalongkorn University’s Bachelor of Arts in Economics (EBA), the charity concert will feature two of Thailand’s hottest bands – Armchair Pop Band and Mild Band, and will be staged at the M Theater on Petchaburi Road, Bangkok. The event is also to mark the 10th anniversary of the EBA programme at Chulalongkorn University.

Tickets for the concert to be held on 27 August 2012 are priced at 2000, 1500, 1000 and 800 Baht each. More information on the charity concert is available from its Facebook page at www.facebook.com/EBAShareLoveCharityConcert.

Chulalongkorn University is one of Thailand’s most prestigious universities, while Chulalongkorn Hospital is a public hospital named after King Rama V.

According to Lankester, this involvement marks the commencement of a number of initiatives in Thailand from Tune Hotels. As a young and exciting brand, introducing itself to the Thai youth market via music and through association with hot bands like Mild Band and Armchair Pop Band is a natural part of its engagement mission.

“We are consistently looking at ways to support the local community where we operate. Apart from contributing to worthwhile causes like fund raising for Chulalongkorn Hospital, it makes it all the more special when we are involved alongside incredible Thai homegrown musical talent in giving back to society. Armchair Pop Band and Mild Band are fantastic artists and we are delighted to be in co-operation with them in connecting Tune Hotels to their considerable number of fans and staying updated with us on Facebook,” adds Lankester.

The first Tune Hotel in Thailand is expected to open in Hatyai in December 2011, with Pattaya opening in February 2012 . Phuket and Bangkok hotels will also be opening within next year.

Tune Hotels currently has 12 hotels located in Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, KLIA-LCCT Airport, Penang, Johor Bahru, Kota Damansara, Bintulu and Kota Bharu in Malaysia; Kuta and Legian in Bali, Indonesia; and London Westminster in the UK.

In just four years since opening its first hotel in downtown Kuala Lumpur in 2007, over two million people have stayed at Tune Hotels. Apart from Thailand, more Tune Hotels are scheduled for opening in Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Australia and the UK.
