Malaysia’s No. 1 technology city will play host to this globally renowned music concert
i-City, otherwise known as the ‘City of Digital Lights’ along with the Mayor of Shah Alam, Yang Berbahagia Datuk Mohd. Jaafar Mohd. Atan, today welcomed the MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2011 concert which will be held here on the 24th of July 2011. i-City is honoured with the opportunity to host such a globally renowned music concert that brings together some of the biggest artists on the globe. The event is expected to enhance Shah Alam’s tourism offering and boost growth.
Yang Berbahagia Datuk Mohd. Jaafar Mohd. Atan, Mayor of Shah Alam, said, “It gives me great pride to extend a warm welcome to MTV South East Asia and MTV’s World Stage Live in Malaysia 2011 to i-City, Shah Alam this year. I am confident that this partnership will further enhance i-City as a tourism destination simultaneously benefitting the city of Shah Alam as well.”
The mayor continued to comment that the MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2011 is a much sought after international event that will certainly position i-City and Shah Alam on the centre stage of the international music scene. “The confidence shown by MTV to host this global event here clearly denotes this technologically advanced city, equipped with first-class facilities is a leading venue for international events, lifestyle, technology, and entertainment in Malaysia.” he added.
“Just last month, I stated that I had drawn up a list of key issues which I will be paying close attention to turn Shah Alam into an international knowledge, dream city to live in. I believe that together with a world-class development and hi-tech recreational avenue such as i-City with international events like the MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2011, we can achieve this vision and liven up this city by making it more fun, vibrant and appealing to the youth, both local and international alike.” he continued.
