Dinosaurs Roam Pusat Sains Negara Kuala Lumpur

Dinosaurs roam the Pusat Sains Negara in Kuala Lumpur

The Pusat Sains Negara in Bukit Kiara will turn into Jurassic Park this December as one of the world’s biggest life size exhibit of dinosaurs, ‘Dinos Alive!’ will be on display from December 1st 2010 to May 31st 2011.

A joint venture between Total Sports Asia and Pusat Sains Negara will bring the ‘Dinos Alive!’ exhibition to Malaysia after its successful stints in Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Visitors to this veritable dinosaur extravaganza will be treated to a complete prehistoric experience with more than 25 dinosaurs. One of the highlights will be the Tyrannosaurus Rex, which stands at a towering height of 5 meters in height, which is equivalent to two Sumatran elephants stacked on top of another! Meanwhile, the largest exhibit, the Apatosaurus measuring 21 meters in length is close to the size of the world’s largest mammal, the blue whale. Some of the dinosaurs will appear life like thanks to the sound and light effects.

Total Sports Asia group CEO, Marcus Luer said that the feedback has been phenomenal in the other venues, with over 100,000 visitors in Manila over less then 2 months and they are expecting the largest turnout to date in Malaysia over the course of six months.

‘Dinos Alive!’ is an interactive edu-tainment, a “walk through” exhibition with dramatic displays of our life size dinosaurs and fun activities for children. There will be an area furnished with a fossil dig pit for the little ones too. This tour will be an interactive educational experience for kids and adults,” said Luer.

Professor Madya Dr Irmawati Ramli, Director of Pusat Sains Negara (PSN) said, “PSN is committed to make science fun and interesting through a thematic and world class exhibition. Bringing ‘Dinos Alive!’ at the PSN will spark off and inculcate interest of Malaysian citizens to science learning orientation, especially on the prehistoric world with ancient creatures”.

CIMB Bank is the title sponsor of the ‘Dinos Alive!’ tour in Malaysia. In conjunction with the tour, the bank will be organising special events for children at the Pusat Sains Negara, as part of its CIMB Junior Activity Day campaign. The events will be held on the 12th and 19th December 2010, and on 16th January, 20th February, 13th March and 17th April 2011. CIMB Junior Savers Account holders will get a free child admission ticket to ‘Dinos Alive!’ by showing their CIMB Junior Recognition Card at the ticketing counters.

The ‘Dinos Alive! Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia Tour 2010’ will be set up at the Pusat Sains Negara from December 1st 2010 to May 31st 2011, 9am-5pm daily. Tickets are available for purchase at the door. Ticket prices for adults are RM 10, kids below 17 years old are RM 5, students with Student IDs are RM 5 and the family package costs RM 25 (2 adults+2 kids).
