AirAsia’s Junior Jet Club loves orangutans!
Junior Jet Club joins in with other zoos around the world to support
The Orangutan Awareness Week.

Sepang, 19th November 2010 – Junior Jet Club, AirAsia’s global travel and adventure program for children is proud to support Orangutan Awareness Week, a global event happening in Zoo Negara, Malaysia.

Malaysia, rich with natural rain forests has a particular affinity with the orangutan and with this worldwide event it brings people together to learn about orangutans and rainforests. This year Zoo Negara joins all the major zoos around the world including Honolulu, Miami, Denver and Atlanta and play host in their respective countries to conduct series of events throughout the month of November with the objective to educate and develop awareness from all walks of life on orangutan.

Junior Jet Club members and their families are invited to Zoo Negara on November 20th and 21st to take part in a zoo wide treasure hunt on wildlife, orangutans and the environment. Members can learn how to make toys for the orangutans (known as “enrichment” in Zoo terminology), take part in coloring and art activities and play varieties of orangutan themed games. All activities are aimed at raising awareness for one of Malaysia’s unique and endearing residents in the most fun and active way.

Junior Jet Club members can enter the zoo at discounted rate (RM4.00) and will have a chance to win great prizes; including 2 x return tickets to see Orangutans in Borneo. To those who would like to register as a member, there will be Junior Jet Club Membership booths at the entrance of Zoo Negara and at the ape centre.

To welcome the school holidays, AirAsiaRedTix.com, the online ticketing platform for entertainment events and theme parks will be at the Junior Jet Club Booth to sell tickets to “Peter Pan The Musical @ Sunway Lagoon”. This will value add fun activities for the Junior Jet Club members and other visitors to Zoo Negara at the Orangutan Awareness Weekend.
